Hazel Freeman

July 30, 1924 — October 25, 2014

Hazel Irene Freeman, the daughter of Lloyd and Alta (Larsen) McCannon was born July 30, 1924 in Royal, Iowa. She received her education at the Linn Grove School, graduating in 1942. Hazel married Harry Freeman on January 24, 1946, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Webb area until 1981 when they moved into Webb. In 1996, Hazel moved to Spencer, Iowa. She was a longtime active member of the Webb Methodist Church for 30 years where she was past-president of WSCS and Circle leader of the church and later, the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Hazel passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry, on January 4, 1986; and one sister, Ivy. Left to cherish her memory are one son, Lyle and wife, Susan of Glenburn, ND; two daughters: Doris Theil of Omaha, NE, and Karen Sorenson and husband, Ervin of Dickens, IA; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Freeman of Apopka, FL, and Marvel Frederick of Spencer, IA; one brother, Donald Richardson and his wife, Beverly of Sioux Rapids, IA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
