Helen Anna Wilken, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Bokker) Wilken, was born July 18, 1914, in Monticello, IN. Her childhood years were spent in Everly where she received her education, graduating from Everly High School in 1933. She later attended a business college in Cedar Rapids. After her schooling, she worked as a secretary to the administrator at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 9 � years.
In 1945, Helen returned to Everly and worked on the farm with her brothers and cared for her parents. She later worked as a scale operator in Everly for 10 years. Helen was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church for most of her life, serving on the council in different offices, serving with the women of the church and as a Sunday school teacher. Helen also enjoyed reading and sewing quilts with the women of Hope Lutheran Church.
Helen passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the age of 99. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Eibe, George, John, Fred, Henry and Herman; and four sisters: Lena Schmidt, Martha Ramsey and Gertrude Bender and Louise Dougal.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Clara Goeken of Everly, IA; one brother-in-law, Maurice Dougal of Lake Park, IA; one sister-in-law, Hope Wilken of Everly, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, Ia.
