Helen Betty Curtis

Helen Betty Hunt, the daughter of Albert Herman and Anna Augusta Klatt Hunt, was born November 25, 1923, in Mason City, Iowa. She received her early education and graduated from the Mason City High School in 1941. She received her nurse's training at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, where she graduated in 1945. She married William E. Curtis on December 30, 1945. She worked in healthcare all her life. She was employed as a nurse, a nursing home administrator, and a State Health Inspector in Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Florida. For the past 10 years, Betty has resided at the Sunrise Apartments in Spencer, Iowa. Betty married Terence Ambrose in 1974. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Betty passed away on February 4, 2007, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard; her husbands, William Curtis and Terence Ambrose; an infant son, David and an infant granddaughter, Allison Webber. She is survived by her daughters, Annette Webber of Omaha, NE, Paulette Appel and her husband, Bob of Spencer, IA and Lisa Curtis and her husband, James Wolf of Orlando, FL; grandchildren: Lindsey Kreber and her husband, Jerry, Bryan Webber, Natalie Webber, Heather Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, and Portia Alcott and her husband, Cody; great-grandchildren: Cole and Madelyn Kreber, McClaren and Karson Rodriguez.
