Helen D. Brigham, the daughter of Merrill and Leana (Case) Banks, was born October 26, 1918 in Clay County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education.
Helen married Arthur Duane Brigham on February 25, 1940 in Spencer, Iowa. Throughout most of their marriage, they lived in the Everly community, where Arthur farmed for 19 years and she raised her family. After Arthur's retirement in 1982, they moved to the town of Everly. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer. She always enjoyed people and was willing to help anyone in need and was a friend to everyone.
She passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the age of 98. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur in 1991; one son, Gary in 2015; an infant brother; a brother, Raymond Banks and one sister, Marlene Summers.
Left to cherish her memory are her one son, Bruce of Everly; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
