Helen Frances Louthan

Helen Frances Louthan, the daughter of G.A. and Frances Winsor Cady was born June 21, 1919 in Sioux Rapids, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Sioux Rapids where she graduated from high school in 1937. Helen married T. Bruce Louthan on November 25, 1939 in Sioux Rapids. Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, sewing, antiquing, playing bridge, gardening and cooking. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was previously active in the Webb United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and was a current member of the Spencer Grace United Methodist Church. Helen was a member of the Spencer P.E.O. Chapter KF and the antique group, Questers. Helen passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at St. Luke Nursing Home in Spencer, IA at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Thomas B.; son-in-law, Robert Swanson; and two brothers: Fredrick Cady and G.A. Cady II. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Stephen (Nancy) Louthan of Hudson, IA and Nancy Swanson of Milton-Freewater, OR; five grandchildren: Mike (Nancy) Adams of Rocklin, CA, Louise Waggoner of Dayton, WA, Stephenie (Doug) Freeswick of Metairie, LA, Casandra (Zac) Timmerman of Cedar Falls, IA and Michele Louthan of Cody, WY; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
