Helen Langenfeld

Helen I. Langenfeld, the daughter of William and Clara (Windeshausen) Bruck, was born July 11, 1927 in Portsmouth, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Harlan, where she received her education, graduating from Harlan High School. Helen married Julius (Dewey) Langenfeld on September 24, 1946 in Harlan, IA. Following their marriage, they lived in Earling, Iowa, until 1960, when they moved to Spencer. Helen worked as an Assembly Operator at National of Spencer, as well as Super Valu and Pamida before her retirement in 1990. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, where she was active with the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society. She also cooked for Sacred Heart Schools. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with her family. Mrs. Langenfeld passed away at her home in Spencer on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by parents; one son, Duane; her husband, Julius (Dewey) on January 2, 1990 and 6 brothers 1 sister and 4 infant sisters. Left to cherish her memory are one son, Kent and his wife, Cindy Langenfeld of Peterson, IA; three daughters: Kay Duley and her husband, Kim of Littleton, CO; Jean Huss and her husband, Mick of Grimes, IA and Jeri Langenfeld of Spencer, IA; 5 grandchildren; 1 sister: Clara Carroll of Harlan, IA; other relatives and many friends.
