Irma Adeline Runkle, the daughter of Edward and Oma (Street) Rorah, was born December 23, 1908 in Menlo, Iowa on a farm, where she loved horses. Her childhood years were spent in Gillett Grove, Iowa, where she received her education. In 1916, the family moved to Spencer, IA. Irma was the second of four children. As a teenager, she worked at Carroll's Bakery and Medlers. At 18 years old, Irma's Dad passed away.
Irma married George (Judd) Bruce Runkle on January 16, 1927, in Estherville, IA. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm near Lake Park for 18 years. In 1985, they moved to Spencer, Iowa, and Everly, where they lived on different farms and she continued her work as an Avon Representative until her retirement after 40 years. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time as well as raising her favorite flowers, carnations and geraniums.
She passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the age of 103. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George (Judd) on November 15, 1990; an infant son, Gordon Bruce; two brothers: Elmer & Jack Rorah; one sister, Lou Englehardt; a son, Charles and a daughter-in-law, Karen Runkle.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald Runkle of Spencer; three daughter-in-law's: JoAlyce, Joleen and Vonnie Runkle; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandkids; 17 great great grandkids; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M, Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
