Irma Jean Jobe, the daughter of Lela Kartman and Gerald Kartman was born November 11, 1926 in Lancaster WI. She grew up in Cassville WI where she went to grade school and high school. Irma passed away at 5:35am Tuesday October 6, 2015 under hospice care at the Spencer Hospital her daughter Kay Sue was with her for the previous two days. Irma would have been 89 next month. Her cause of death was respiratory failure.
Irma Jean was married to Orville Jobe on November 11, 1946 in Lafayette MN. Orville passed away on August 23, 2000. Irma was previously married to Robert Kline and had two children Stanley and Richard. Robert Kline passed away in 1948. Orville adopted Stanley and Richard in 1947. Orville and Irma had two daughters Patty Anne and Kay Sue. Stanley passed away May 21, 2002 due to injuries from a motorcycle accident in 1980. Irma was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Howard Kartman.
Irma and Orville lived in Spence IA from 1968 until 1989 until Orville retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.
The memory of Irma is cherish by her surviving children Richard, Patty Anne, Kay Sue, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one (1) great-great grandchild. She is also survived and affectionately remembered by her sister Eunice Brooks and brother Louis Kartman; other friend and relatives included in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Irma Jean was an energetic person and would work outside the home to help supplement the family income when possible. She enjoyed helping people who needed more help than her. Irma enjoyed playing bingo in her retirement years at the age of 65 this lady could work 8 bingo cards at the same time. She was always active and received great recognition from the state of Iowa in Marshall County for her participations in the transportation of handicapped children to special education schools from 1953 to 1959. Neither thunder storms nor snow storms were any match for Irma's determination to get those special kids to schools on time.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.
