Isaac "Ike" C. Vermeer

     Isaac (Ike) C. VerMeer, the son of Cornelius (Case) VerMeer and Pauline VerMeer (Breeman) he was born June 15, 1942 in Rock Rapids, Iowa.  Where he attended Central Lyon High School, while living in Rock Rapids he owned and operated an auto garage and was an avid race car driver for many years.

     In 1963 Ike married Marilyn Johnson and they had two children Paul and Rochelle.  A few years later the family moved to Spencer, Iowa where Ike was employed at the Iowa Department of Transportation which he stayed until his retirement.

     Ike was passionate about fishing and hunting which he shared many great memories and stories with his friends and family.  After retirement Ike moved to Graettinger, Iowa with longtime girlfriend Nancy Schnell.

     Ike passed away peacefully at his home November 14, 2020 at the age of 78.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Case and Pauline VerMeer (Breeman), stepmother, Thelma Munsen; two brothers, Gerald VerMeer and Pete VerMeer.

     Left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving children: son, Paul (Robin) VerMeer; daughter, Rochelle Folkens; grandsons: Schuyler and Matthew Folkens; his loving girlfriend, Nancy Schnell; sister, Glenda Finch and half siblings: Martin, Charles and Carol; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
