Iva Lea Faulkner, the daughter of Lee and Alice (Lawler) Johnson, was born May 23, 1929, in Dickens, IA. She was raised and received her early education in the Dickens, Gillett Grove, Greenville and Rossie areas, graduating from Greenville-Rossie High School.
Iva Married Darrell Faulkner on September 20, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They lived in Colorado for 10 years, where Iva worked in a paint factory, before moving back to Spencer in the early 1970’s. She worked at Witco for 18 years before retiring in 1996. Iva loved to garden, read and spend time with her grandchildren.
Iva passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the Ruthven Care Center at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell in 2002; her daughter, Karen Mars; 3 sisters: Leona Hurt, Gladys Nissen, and Opal Johnston; 2 brothers: John Johnson and Donald Johnson and 2 sons-in-law: Cecil Mars and Paul Clark.
Left to cherish her memory are 3 daughters: Virginia Clark of Oregon City, OR, Joyce Faulkner of Julesburg, CO and Shirley Millard and her husband, Jeff of Spencer, IA; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
