Ivan D. Cushing, the son of Clinton and Laura Meier Cushing, was born June 15, 1918 in Lone Rock, Iowa. He received his early education and graduated from High School in Swea City.
Ivan married Annetta Victoria Larson on December 7, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in Ruthven and Emmetsburg before moving to Spencer in 1961. Ivan worked for the Northwest Shopper and Matt Furniture. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa.
Ivan passed away on April 14, 2007 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annetta on December 13, 1987; his daughter, Joan; step-daughter, Dixie and step-son, Bob Hynes; brother, Harry Cushing.
He is survived by his son, Tom Cushing and his wife, Linda of Spencer, Iowa; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Ila Burgeson of Clinton, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
