Ivan Randolph Eninger

Ivan Randolph Eninger, the son of Paul and Opal (Amick) Eninger, was born May 10, 1929 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood was spent on the Royal road six miles south of Spencer, where he received his education at a country school near their farm and in Sioux Township, later graduating from Spencer High School. Following his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1952. Ivan spent his whole life in the Spencer area, where he farmed for many years. Later in his life, he worked as a surveyor for Kruse, Cate and Nelson for several years until his retirement. He was an active member of the VFW organization in Spencer since his discharge from active duty and helped with numerous funeral honor guard services throughout the years. Ivan also was a kind soul and would dress up as Santa Claus for the children for many years. Ivan passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Lois Wax of Blaine, MN; his nieces and nephews: Gary & Linda Wax and their daughter, Krista, Greg and Linda Wax and children Greg Jr, Caroline, Stephen, and Danielle, Galen & Angie Wax and children Rachel Maschke, Joe and Lucas; Gordy & Denise Shea Wax, and Denice Wax all of Minnesota and his special friends: Ted Cate, John Cotton and Brad Wallace all of Spencer.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. Military services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post #1 - American Legion of Spencer, Iowa immediately following the graveside services.
