Jacquelyn Ruth Peterson, the daughter of Leonard and Clara (Pettit) LeClair, was born March 12, 1937 in Everly, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent on a farm in Everly, Iowa, where she received her education in Everly Schools.
After her schooling, she worked in and around the Everly area. After a short stay in Arizona, she returned to the Everly area where she worked as a waitress, cashier, maid and phone representative, but mainly as a mom and grandma. Her hobbies included sewing, collecting dolls and caring for animals. She loved her animals, loved to ride horses and she had 4-H calves as a teenager. Every chance she had, she would be loving on a cat or dog. Jacquelyn was a very active member of the Fostoria United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed baking goods for the fundraisers.
She passed away at her home in Spencer on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the age of 81. Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her significant other, Gene Wilson; one brother, Larry LeClair; a grandson, Donnie Newton, Jr. and a son, Alan Dean Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barbara (Jason Cox), Bridget Parker (Ron Johnson), Michael Johnson, Don Newton, Marie Bailey and Frankie (John) Weier; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Thomas LeClair; a special friend, Keith Weier; a nephew, Ted Cordrey; other relatives and friends.
