James "Jim" Arthur Eldridge, the son of Claudie (Ray) and Alice Louise (Long) Eldridge, was born March 11, 1957 in Burlington, WA. He spent his childhood in the communities of Marblemount, WA, Concrete, WA, and Kamiah, ID. Jim graduated from Kamiah High School in 1975 before following his sister to Spencer, IA.
Jim married his love, Dianne Hagedorn on September 18, 1976 in Spencer, IA where they built a life together. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Raeonna, Drew, and Brayden. As a family they made so many unforgettable memories, and their door was always open to all.
He was a jack of all trades having worked numerous jobs during his career. In 1980, he started Jim Eldridge Construction. He ran his excavation company until his death, building it over the years and earning the respect of everyone he worked for/with. Jim had a great appreciation for music and loved playing his guitars. He rarely lost a card game and could out fish anyone. You could always count on him for a joke or a prank. He had a deep and undying love for his family and made friends everywhere he went. Above all else, Jim loved his “grand-babies”. They truly were the center of his universe.
Jim fought hard and always kept a positive attitude throughout his battle with cancer. He passed away at Spencer Hospital on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 65, surrounded by his family. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Effie Claire Eldridge and was greeted by his beloved dog, Fred.
Left to cherish his memory is his love, Dianne and their children Raeonna Sikora (Mike Bruellman) of Emmetsburg, IA, Drew (Leaha) Eldridge of Spencer, IA, and Brayden Eldridge of Dickens, IA; 11 grandchildren, one sister Raejean (John) Noah of Terril, IA, other relatives and many, many friends.
