James (Jim) Leland Baschke was born on November 8, 1942 to Edward and Genevieve Baschke of Milford, Iowa. He was raised on a farm east of Milford and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Milford thru 8th grade. He graduated from Milford High School in 1961.
Three surviving children; Cindy, Roger and Judy from his first marriage. On July 11, 1975 he married Sally Sorenson (Stukey). They continued to live on the farm west of Terril where Jim farmed and worked for John Morrell packing plant in Estherville, Iowa. For 12 years, they farmed and raised lambs. Jim and Sally moved to Spencer in July of 2000.
Jim supported his children with 4-H projects and taught them all he knew about farming. He was never without a dog beside him whether it was Susie, Bart, Lexie, Gabriel, Quincy or Bell; they were this man's 'best' friend. In recent years, Jim had picked up camping in the summer and fleeing to Donna, Texas with the other snowbirds in the winter. He enjoyed his coffee buddies and dining out in the community.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents (Ed and Genevieve) and his wife of 37 years Sally. Left to remember his life are his children Cindy (Mark) Nordstrom; (Justin, Cori & Kyle), Roger (Ann) Baschke; (Brooke & Bradi), and Judy (Ben) Kilgore; (Abby & Anna), his companion Linda Casson ,step-grandchildren; Evan, Mason, Tessa and Collin Stukey and their mother Lisa. His sister, Karen Woodford and brother Robert Baschke; with many nieces, nephews and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
A Catholic Vigil Service will be held 4:30 P.M., Wednesday at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
Visitation will begin 5:00 P.M., Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer
