James Leroy Anderson

March 2, 1955 — January 25, 2009

James "Jim" Leroy Anderson, the son of Floyd and Elaine (Duncan) Anderson, was born March 2, 1955, in Alexandria, MN. His childhood years were spent in Herman, MN where he attended school until he was nine. His family then moved to Fairmont, MN where he graduated from Fairmont High School. Following school, Jim entered the United States Army and served for two years until his honorable discharge. He then enrolled in vocational school in Jackson, MN for two years. Jim moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he went to work for D-3 Appliance Company. On May 26, 1984, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Carlo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following their marriage they lived in Colorado where Jim went to work for People's Natural Gas in 1991. In 1997, Jim was transferred to Webster City, IA, and in 1999 he moved to Spencer where he was an external manager with Black Hills Energy. Jim enjoyed playing golf and loved to travel to warm weather places. He also liked stock car racing, but most of all he loved to be around family and friends. On January 25, Jim passed away unexpectedly at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 53. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jamee (Zach) Gronau, and their two children, Carter Wills and Alexander James Gronau all of Omaha, NE; his wife, Evelyn Anderson of Spencer, IA; special friend, Carolyn Riley of Spencer; one brother, Les Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO; one step-father, Dick Mahar of Fairmont, MN; and one niece, Christine Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at First Congregational Church in Spencer.
