James Ray Scharnberg, the son of Sherman and Connie (Connor) Scharnberg, was born November 20, 1972 in Spencer, Iowa. James grew up on a farm near Everly, where he worked on his dad's farm and also for other area farmer's as a farm hand. He was also active in 4--H and the FFA during school. Following his graduation from Everly High School in 1991, he moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where he attended WIT for one year, graduating with a business degree. Following his schooling, he worked at Menard's from 1992 to 1997 and worked as a supervisor at Tyson Retail Deli in Cherokee for the last 14 years. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church along with his son, Austin.
James passed as a result of injuries received in an auto accident near Rockwell City, Iowa on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 39. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rae Dean and John Connor and his paternal grandparents, Hap and Eldo Scharnberg.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Sherman and Connie Scharnberg of Everly, IA; a son, Austin and a daughter, Kara both of Anthon, IA; one brother, Jerry Scharnberg of Sioux Rapids, IA; one half brother, John Scott of Central, IA; his girlfriend, Jamie Werner and her children: Melissa, Matthew, Austin, Tyler and Kyle all of Cherokee, IA; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; other relatives and many, many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
