James 'Jim' Robert Coffey, the son of Paul and Emma Stukey Pullen, was born in Madison, South Dakota on September 19, 1934. He received his early education in Spencer, Iowa.
Jim served in the United States Army- Combat Engineers 2nd Division. On August 31st, 1957, Jim married Alberta 'Bert' Floryancic at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Spencer, Iowa where Jim worked for the Spencer Packing Plant for many years. From 1969-1999 Jim and Bert owned and operated Speed Printers and from 1984-2004 Jim and Bert also owned and operated Midwest Health Foods.
Jim was very active in the Moose and reached Pilgrim status, the highest level of honor in the organization. He was also a member of the VFW, a board member of the Clay County Crime Stoppers, and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Jim and Bert always enjoyed camping and spent many summers with family and friends at Cuttys of Okoboji. One of Jim's biggest pride and joys was his family. Jim could always be seen at all of his children and grandchildren's events and activities. If you ever asked Jim about his grandchildren, he would light up and tell you about them and what they were doing.
On Sunday March 16th, 2014 Jim passed away at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Bert.
