Jane Minogue Rice, the daughter of Fred and Kathrine DeLano Minogue, was born November 30, 1912 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Jane received her early education and graduated from Fort Dodge High School. Jane attended junior college in Fort Dodge for two years and graduated from Parsons College with a B.S. degree.
Jane married Lloyd Arlie Rice on May 30, 1937, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They lived in the communities of Libertyville, Gibson and Lamoni, Iowa before moving to Spencer in 1945. Jane taught English in Royal, Iowa for two years and then at Spencer High School until her retirement in 1973. Jane was an active member of First Congregational Church in Spencer where she served as a Deaconess, Woman's Fellowship and taught Sunday school. Jane also was a member of the Eastern Star and Spencer Hospital Auxiliary. In her spare time, Jane enjoyed reading and shell work. In 1999, Jane moved to Oak Terrace Estates in Sac City, Iowa. Here, she enjoyed making new friends and being near family for the next 9 years.
Jane passed away on July 30, 2013 at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, Iowa at the age of 100 years and 8 months. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd on March 7, 1984; one sister, Helen Rankin and one brother, Charles Minogue.
She is survived by her two daughters: JoAnne (Gary) Anderson of Mundelein, IL and Cynthia (Matthew) Wallace of Sac City, IA; 5 grandchildren: Kelly (Nick) Nilsson, Greg (Donna) Anderson, Amy (Randy) Saller, Nichole Anderson and Ian Wallace; 6 great grandchildern: Lydia Anderson, Luke Anderson, Jonah Saller, Gilbert Saller, Sadie Saller and Grayson Anderson; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
