Janet Faye Giese Bringle

Janet Faye Giese Bringle, the daughter of Harold and Marvel (Davis) Elsbury, was born May 9, 1936 in Sutherland, Iowa.  Her childhood years were spent in Sutherland, where she received her education, graduating from Sutherland Consolidated Schools.  She later continued her education at Miss Francis School of Cosmetology in Spencer, Iowa. 

     Janet married Donald (Gus) Giese on February 24, 1953 in Jackson, MN.  To this union 4 children were born: Rick, Brad, Julie and Val.  Janet worked as an aide at a mental health facility, hospital and a nursing home. 

     Janet married Dave Bringle on August 25, 1990 in Spencer, Iowa.  After their marriage, they lived in Spencer, Iowa, where she worked as a hairstylist for J.C. Penney’s Salon for 16 years, until her retirement in 2001.  Throughout the years, she was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland and Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.  Janet was also a member of the Moose Women in Spencer.

     She passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the age of 82.  Janet was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Irv, Don and Bernard Elsbury; one sister, Bonnie Urban and one grandchild in infancy.

     Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Rick and Mary Giese and Brad and Bonnie Giese all of Sutherland, Julie and Kelly Stevens of Primghar and Val and Dean Rohwer of Sutherland; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
