Janice Lee Young

Janice Lee Young, the daughter of Roy and Edna (Beuchle) Lanus was born September 13, 1939, in Rolfe, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in the Rolfe area where she attended school and graduated from Rolfe High School.
Janice married John Young on August 7, 1959, in Rolfe, Iowa. She worked as the Deputy Clerk for Rolfe for 35 years and drove school bus for 25 years. Janice enjoyed baking, doing activities outside such as walking and bird watching, but her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She moved to Spencer in 2010 and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, Iowa, and the VFW.
Janice passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother George Lanus; one niece, Brenda; one nephew, Daniel; and her beloved mama kitty.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John of Spencer; three children: Julie Young of Pennsylvania, Jerry Young of Kansas City, MO, and Joan (Keith) Johnson of Spencer, IA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Papenfuhs of Boliver, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
