Jason Daniel Dean Nellis

September 27, 1972 — October 15, 2011

Jason Daniel Dean Nellis, the son of Dale and Linda (Aakhus) Nellis was born September 27, 1972 in Hartley, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Sutherland, Iowa, graduating from South O'Brien High School in 1991. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. He attended college and moved to Arizona in 1993. He met and married Karen Walkden and to this union was born two children. In 2006, he moved back to Iowa and worked at JTV. This marriage dissolved in 2008. He moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he continued his education. He had a special friend, Jenna and they had two daughters together. Jason passed away at Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the age of 39. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Payton and two sisters: Julie in infancy and Melanie. Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Linda and Dale Nellis of Sutherland, IA; his special friend, Jenna; his children: David, Autumn, Tyler and Grace Lynn; a sister, Kimberly (Mauricio) Jara of Tempe, AZ; one brother, Mark and his wife, Amy Nellis of Melvin, IA; nephews: Estaben, Gabe, Shane, Dylan; nieces: Daniela (Tim) Warren, Olivia and Lily; one great niece, Clara Warren; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES

Joint memorial services will be held for Jason and Melanie Nellis at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.
