Jay Todd Cole was born on January 2, 1963 to LeRoy and Deanna (Nelson) Cole in Cherokee, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Spencer, Iowa. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1981. After graduation, Jay was employed at Stub's Ranch Kitchen, he was a bartender and worked at several packing plants throughout the country before returning back to Spencer working construction. Jay's passion was fishing and camping of which he shared fondly with family and friends. Jay was known for his kind heart, which was considered as big as the fish he caught and the tales he told. He was blessed and survived by his son George Cole of Spencer; love of his life Rhonda Hintz her 2 children Mitchell and Leaha and (her husband Drew) and 3 grandchildren of Spencer; Mother Deanna (Nelson) Cole of Spencer; Siblings Ryne and (his wife Teri) of Mountain Home, Idaho; Brenda and (her husband Tim) of Mountain Home, Idaho, Doug Cole of Enid Oklahoma, Jill and (her husband Stan) of Runnells, Iowa, Chad and (his wife Kim) of Windsor Heights, Iowa and many other loved relatives and friends. Jay passed away on Feb. 14, 2014 at Avera McKennan Hospital at the age of 51 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father LeRoy Cole.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
