Jean Denise Tennant, the daughter of Fred and Joyce (Silva) Tennant, was born January 20, 1954, in San Diego, California. Her childhood years were spent in San Diego where she received her early education. Her family moved to Everly, Iowa, when she was 17 and continued her education, graduating from Everly High School.
Following her schooling, she pursued her writing career and eventually owned her own publishing company, Shapato Publishing. When she wasn't pursuing her career, she was raising her family of three children. She married Grover Reiser on April 4, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nevada. After their marriage, they enjoyed their families and were able to travel extensively throughout the United States to see friends and family. Jean continued her career and published many books and short stories. Following Grover's death in February of 2015, Jean moved to Sarasota, Florida, for one year before returning to Everly.
Jean passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, November 25, 2016, following a short bout with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Fear; her father, Fred Tennant; and husband, Grover.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Shaun (Debi) Iske and their son, Skylar all of Everly, IA, Paul Iske and his daughter, Aaryn of Everly, IA, and Toni (Cory) Sonner and their children: Brynnlee and Chayton of Huxley, IA; other relatives and many, many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly, Iowa.
