Jeanne Marie Bogenrief

Jeanne Marie (Stoltze) Bogenrief was born November 9, 1954, to Carl and Cora (Moore) Stoltze. She was raised on a family farm outside of Hinton, Iowa, where she learned her work ethics which she carried on her whole life. She attended Hinton School and made the all-state basketball team during her junior and senior years. This is also when she met her future husband, Mark Bogenrief, and they were married June 1, 1973, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa, and stayed together the following 45 years. To this union two sons were born, Seth Carl on June 21, 1975, and Jesse on July 18, 1976. Jeanne and Mark started their stained glass business in 1978. Her work ethic and skills helped propel their studio into a world class studio with their work being admired and collected. From this their sons learned and practiced their own style of glass, Seth into fusing and slumping, and Jesse into blown glass. Jeanne always managed to keep it running. What people always remembered about her was her ability to be the peacemaker. Her faith in God shown through her life and inspired others to be a better person. She never gave up on her faith all the way to the end which also showed one of her other traits which was endurance. She always thought about other people and how she could help them. This came out even at the end when she asked what she could do to help the hospice nurses. Her entire life could be summed up in one word - LOVE. Close family members to cherish her memory are her husband, Mark of Sutherland, IA, and two sons, Seth and Jesse; sister, Julie & Duane VanderPlas of Le Mars, IA, and children, Tammie & David Milbrodt, Jeremy & Rachel VanderPlas; brother, John & Debra Christiansen of Hinton, IA, and child, Kara Cochran; sister, Amy & Steve Hodges of Cheyenne, WY, and children, Joshua, Rachel & Matt Larson, Benjamin & Jessie; sister-in-law, Pam Stoltze of Hinton, IA, and children, Stacey & Dennis Hasselhoff, Stanley & Tiffany Stoltze, Amanda & Cody Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa & Clifford Gaddis, Jr. of Pasadena, TX, and children, Craig & Melinda Gaddis, Mary Catherine Gaddis; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret & Richard Cain of Sioux City, IA, and Michael Cain; sister-in-law, Cecelia Jones of Missouri Valley, IA and children: Jeremiah & Chyanne, Eric, Matthew, Heather Marie; brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas & Diane Bogenrief of Hinton, IA, and children: Amanda & Seth Adam; brother and sister-in-law, Timothy & Madlyn Bogenrief of Sioux City, IA, and children: Sara, Benjamin & Heather Bogenrief, Joel & Julie Bogenrief. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Cora Stoltze; sister, Diane; and brother, Mark.
