Dickens

Jeannie Marlene Stone, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Strohman) Myers, was born on September 19, 1948, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, where she was raised and received her early education.

After high school, she worked as a waitress at Rexall Drug, the North Y and Country Kitchen in Spencer.  In 1983, she started working in the medical field as a CNA at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer. She became one of the most beloved CNA’s by her patients and coworkers, and after 34 dedicated years, she retired in 2016.  Following retirement, she enjoyed spending time at home tending to her flower garden.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her grandchildren.

Jeannie not only worked hard, she played hard in her mid 30’s. She played 2nd base on the Dickens Chickens softball team for several years.

She passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill and Chuck Myers.
