Jeannine Winter

Jeannine Lila Winter, the daughter of Lester and Pearl (Arms) Welle was born on April 25, 1932 in Gillett Grove, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the rural Okoboji and Spencer, IA areas, where she attended school. She graduated from Okoboji Township High School in 1950. Jeannine married Clifford Winter on May 14, 1950 at the Little Sioux Lutheran Church in Milford, IA. They lived in Arnolds Park, IA, and Milford, IA, before moving to Fostoria, IA. She worked for Berkley's, Neisner's Department Store, and Sernett's Clothing, until her retirement. Jeannine enjoyed sewing, flowers, baking, especially cookies, and spending time with her family. She helped as a Ladies Aide, and a member of Little Sioux Lutheran Church. Jeannine passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Northshire Residence in Spencer, IA, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 4 brothers, Mike, John, Leroy and Jerry Welle. Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Craig (Kathy) Winter of Deer Lodge, MT, Vivian Winter of Fostoria, IA, Rodney (Denise) Winter of Tucson, AZ, Richard (Leah) Winter of Atoka, TN, and Elaina Winter of Fostoria, IA; 6 grandchildren, Chris, Aaron, Brian, Trevor, Morgan and Audrey Winter; 3 great-grandchildren, Clifford Sabastian, and Aurora Winter; 4 brothers, Verle Dean of Florida, William of Spencer, IA, David of Milford, IA and Robert Welle of Milford, IA; 2 sisters, DeAnne (Norman) Van Enter of Fostoria, IA and Bonnie Gilbertson of Apache Junction, AZ; 3 sisters-in-law, Marie Welle and Roseanne Welle of Milford, IA and Nancy Welle of Fostoria, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
