Jeffrey Lee Madson, the son of Darrel Dean and Carole (Tielbur) Madson, was born September 18, 1963 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Marathon, where he received his early education. His family moved to Webb, Iowa in 1975, where he attended South Clay High School, graduating in 1982. While he attended school, he drove the school bus.
Jeff married Roxanne Hegel on July 1, 1983 and to this union was born two children: Amanda Rose and Nicholas Dean. Jeff worked at Mid Continent Bottling for several years. He later changed his career to trucking.
He married Colleen Newcomb on November 2, 2002 at the Greenville Congregational Church in Greenville, IA and to this union he gained two more daughters: Megan & Jordan. He trucked for Jeffclo for several years until Jeff Husby’s death. He then began trucking for Henderscheidt Trucking and continued until the time of his death. He loved collecting John Deere items, driving his Harley, horses, woodworking and especially enjoyed swimming around in the pool with his family.
He passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD following a short illness on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the age of 57. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Darrel in 2019 and an infant sister, Jody Lynn.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Colleen of Greenville, IA; his mother, Carol of Spencer; his children: Amanda Madson of Everly, Nicholas (Shawnda) Madson of Spirit Lake, IA, Megan (Jason) Dick of Las Vegas, NV and Jordan (Brandon) Madson of Greenville, IA; one brother, Bill (Janeen) Madson of Webb, IA; one sister, Kelly (Dean) Woodbury of Winchester, IN; 8 grandchildren: Kenidee, Vivienne, Victoria, Violet, Greenlee, Braxlynn, Meredith-Emilie & Atreyu Madson; his four-legged son, Sven; other relatives and many friends.
