Jefferson 'Jeff' Lee Wilbur

April 25, 1968 — November 18, 2012

Jefferson Lee Wilbur, son of John Wilbur and Barb (Marble) Campbell was born on April 25, 1968, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer. In 1986, he moved to Kansas to live with his father and complete his senior year of high school. Jeff graduated from Scott City High School in 1987. Jeff attended Iowa Lakes Community School and received certificates in auto body and carpentry. Jeff married Christine Holt in August of 1995. This marriage was blessed with one son, Alex in 2000. Jeff met and fell in love with Jodie Iseminger in 2004. They made a home together in Spencer for the last 8 years. Jodie has one daughter, Melinda (Mitch) Newbiggin, and one son, Zach Iseminger that Jeff considered to be his children also. Throughout his adult life, Jeff made homes in Emmetsburg, Hartley, and Spencer. Jeff enjoyed employment in which he could work with his hands and get dirty. Jeff's hobbies included tinkering on anything that had a motor or could be torn apart, playing pool, shooting darts, movies and television with Jodie, and being with his beloved white German Shepard, Pooka. On Sunday, November 18, 2012, Jeff passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he fought courageously for 77 days trying to recover from a traumatic brain injury. Jeff passed away peacefully with his family at his side. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, John Wilbur; paternal grandparents, Norm and Mary Wilbur; and his maternal grandfather, Charles Marble. Left to cherish his memory is his partner and love of his life, Jodie Iseminger of Spencer; his daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Mitch Newbiggin of Milford; his son, Zach Iseminger of Spencer, his son, Alex Wilbur of Sheldon; his mother and stepfather, Barb and Burryl Campbell of Hartley; his sister and brother-in-law and their children, Jeanna and Gary Richter (Chance and Kaci) of Hartley; his sister and her children, Jen Nelson (Paige, Kaylee, and Jacob) of Hartley; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Amber Wilbur of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; his brother, Michael Wilbur of Vermillion, South Dakota; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Marble of Sanborn, Iowa; his dog, Pooka of Spencer; many friends and relatives; and the members of TEAM JEFF.

SERVICES

Memorial services will take place 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 24, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
