Jeffrey James Triplett, the son of Tom and Arlene (Giese) Triplett, was born on March 22, 1957 in Cherokee, IA. He was raised in Sutherland on the family farm which was established in the late 1800’s. He attended school in Sutherland, graduating from Sutherland High School and then graduating from NICC with an Associates degree as an electrician.
On December 11, 1976, Jeffrey married Jodi Harrison in Cherokee, IA. They had 2 daughters, Jennifer Marie in 1977 and Tara Sue in 1979. In 1982, Jeff accepted a job with Georgia Pacific prompting a move to Delaware. Jeff worked for Georgia Pacific for 10 years before moving on to work at Hillside Oil Company as an HVAC technician. After their daughters graduated high school, Jeff and Jodi decided to return home to NW Iowa to live on the family farm where they enjoyed raising geese, goats and cattle. Jeff took pride in working on projects around the farm. He was great with hands and known to be able to fix anything. Jeff also enjoyed fishing and golfing as well as exercising at the Willoway in Sutherland where he made many friends. Shortly before his retirement, he worked hard to earn a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
He passed away surrounded by his family on October 5, 2023, at the Spencer Hospital from complications related ALS. He was preceded in death by his parents ,Tom and Arlene ,and his brother, Blaine.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Jodi of Spencer, IA; his 2 daughters: Jennifer and her husband, Mike and their daughter, Claira of Homer, AK and Tara and her son, Henry of Wilmington, DE; his brother, Darryl and his wife, Jean of Primghar, IA; his sister, Kay Sholly and her husband, David of Hartley, IA ,as well as several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
