Jenell Marie Quee, the daughter of Herold and Jennie (Birchard) Quee, was born June 11, 1952, in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent on a farm two miles west of the Little Sioux Lutheran Church until her family moved to Lake Park in 1962. She was baptized at the Zion Methodist Church and was confirmed at the Little Sioux Lutheran Church in rural Milford where she was a member until they closed the church in 2010. For the last two years, she was a member of the Fostoria Methodist Church in Fostoria. In 1964, her family moved to Fostoria where she lived for many years and finished her education.
Following high school, she attended and graduated from Beauty School. After passing the State Boards, she worked as a beautician for about two years. Jenell later worked at Witco for a period of time and had worked at Hardee's in Spencer for 25 years when her health forced her to retire.
