Jessie Marie Kruse

Jessie Marie Kruse, the daughter of Hugh and Rena Madsen Ewing, was born September 27, 1911 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1929. Jessie married Floyd Kruse on January 27, 1930 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm north of Peterson and then to southwest of Royal and later to a farm south of Moneta and during that time, she worked at Hartley Creamery for 10 years. In 1970, they retired from farming to Spencer due to Floyd's failing health. She worked at Spencer Hospital for 19 � years until her retirement. Jessie was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Royal and was currently a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Jessie passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd on November 8, 1975; two sisters: Ruth Purinton and Betty Kabrick and two brothers: Vern and Ernest Ewing. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Jim and Barbara Kruse of Greeley, CO, Sharon and Lowell Reedstrom of North Mankato, MN and Tom and Monica Kruse of Carroll, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a niece Lavonne Kephart of Spencer; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
