Joan Marie Phelps, the daughter of Harold and Eleanor Huss Phelps, was born August 25, 1958 in Spencer, Iowa. She received her early education and graduated from Clay Central High School in Royal, Iowa in 1976. Joan continued her education at the Spencer Business School and Iowa Lakes Community College.

Following her schooling, Joan worked at K-Mart in Spencer for 25 years and then at Buy Rite Food in Milford for 12 years. Joan lived in Royal, Iowa where she was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed reading, fishing and doing crafts.

Joan passed away on September 29, 2022 at Northshire Residence in Spencer, Iowa at the age of 64. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold “Blackie” and Eleanor Phelps and one infant brother, Larry.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Phelps of Newton, IA; her niece, Jennifer Phelps of Boone, IA; other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
