Joanne Deen was born September 19, 1931 in Payette, Idaho to Melvin Morgan Deen and Lora Maranda (Alden) Deen. They later welcomed her brother, Pat and sister, Bonnie into the family. Joanne attended Payette Community School and graduated in 1949.
She went on to school to become a nurse and later met the love of her life, Charles "Pat" Patrick while she was working at the hospital in Stibnite, Idaho. She and Pat were united in marriage in Winnemucca, Nevada on July 9, 1951. From this union came four children: Kathy, Susan, Charles Michael and Tara.
Joanne and Pat lived in various locations throughout Nevada as Pat worked on a construction crew. They later settled in Vale, Oregon to raise their children.
Joanne's proudest moment was going back to school and completing her Nursing degree and license at the age of 50. She accomplished this goal in one year!
Joanne retired to Payette, Idaho and later moved to Everly, Iowa.
Joanne passed away at Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa on October 16, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie McGinnis and her husband, Mike of Roseburg, Oregon, Daughter, Kathy Patrick of Payette, Idaho, Son Charles Michael and his wife, Dee of Oklahoma, her daughter, Tara Patrick of Everly, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lora Deen; her brother, Pat Deen; her husband, Charles "Pat" Patrick and her daughter, Susan "Suzi" Patrick.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Joanne's memory to the Everly Fire and Rescue, Everly, Iowa 51338.
Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of local arrangements.
SERVICES
A celebration of life ceremony will be held October 27, 2006 at the Nazarene Church in Payette, Idaho to honor Joanne Deen Patrick of Everly, Iowa, formerly of Payette, Idaho.
