Joe E Syndergaard

     Joe E Syndergaard, the son of Edward and Margaret (Huberg) Syndergaard was born March 6, 1942, in Hartley, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Alta, Iowa, area where he attended Fairview Country School. He graduated from Alta High School in 1959.

     Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until his Honorable Discharge. He married, and to this union, had 3 children. He later divorced. Joe married Marilyn Guess on May 14, 1973 in Sioux Falls, SD. He drove truck for several companies before retiring at 30+ years. He enjoyed watching wresting, westerns, camping, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge.

     Joe passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Anthony; 3 brothers, James, Stanley, and Donald.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marilyn of Spencer, IA; 6 children, Jackie (Kevin) Vodraska of Spencer, IA, Brenda (Scott) Grove of New Hampton, IA, Angie Syndergaard of Illinois, Adam (Vicky) Syndergaard of Spencer, IA, Thomas (Angie) Syndergaard of Milwaukee, WI, and Tina Leewright and special friend  (Bryan Stephan) of Storm Lake, IA; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; 2 sisters, Susann (Richard) Olson of Harlan, IA and Delores (Dennis) Porter of Nevada, IA; other relatives; and many friends.

SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 10, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
