Joe Thomas Carter

Joe Thomas Carter, the son of John Henry and Verla Johnson Carter, was born November 29, 1953 in Wren, OR. He received his early education in Oregon where he lived until the age of 15. He then moved to Tucson, AZ at the age of 19. Joe moved to Idaho and then Oregon where he worked for 10 years as a Logger. He then became a truck driver and after 24 years of driving, Joe retired. He was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. His fondest memories were the days his children and grandchildren were born and seeing his daughter, Laura getting married. Joe passed away on October 12, 2012 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 58. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Joshua Thomas Carter and Henry John Carter; one brother, Allen Henry Carter. He is survived by 9 children: Francis Scott Carter of IA, Joe Thomas Carter Jr. of Canada, Rosemary Doreen O'Toole of IA, Jeramy Joe Carter of AZ, John Henry Johnson of IA, Joann Carter of IA, Laura Ann Tunzer of IA, Sarah Lee O'Toole of IA and Marjorie Doreen O'Toole of IA; 11 grandsons and 6 granddaughters; one brother, Bernard John Carter of AZ; one sister, Alyce Scotty of NM; other relatives and friends.
