John A. Weeston

     On Sunday, January first, John Albert Weeston, age sixty-six, left his earthly home for his eternal one. He is survived by his loving wife Melanie Weeston (Lamb) and his two children, Joseph Weeston (Melinda) and Elizabeth Weeston. His stepchildren Allison Benninghoff (Brett) and Robert Austad (Jennifer) and a combined eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John was born the youngest of four children (Benjamin, Thomas, and Adina) in Belleview Ohio to John Albert and Ann Loveda Weeston who preceded him in death. John enlisted in the Navy immediately following high school and was honorably discharged in June of nineteen eighty-one. Following his time in the Navy, John attended and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and went on to work in corrections. In retirement, John and Melanie moved from Arizona making Spencer Iowa their home. John was a gentle kind man that will be dearly missed.
