John Leonard Ihnen

Johnathon "John" Leonard Ihnen was killed in a tragic vehicle accident on Sunday, April 17, 2016, that took his life at the age of 53. On September 20, 1962, John was born in California, and as a baby his family moved to Illinois where he grew up with two sisters and two brothers. John moved to Iowa where he met Pam and her five daughters and took on a full time father role model. He and Pam were married May 29, 1992, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and became a family of seven...six girls and John with his boy dog, Gizmo. John was a hard worker and worked at Shine Brothers for 25+ years, Midstates Builders for 12+ years, and for the last six months was employed at Nine Eagles Equipment. He enjoyed camping, working and he was always MacGyvering something. He had a passion for biking all his life and finally bought his dream, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, in the fall of 2015. John was a loved father and enjoyed spending time with his daughters. He gave them strength and love and will continue to live through his girls. He will be missed by many family members and friends. From John, it was never a "good bye", it was a "see you later."
