John Michael Rosacker, the son of Elmer and Eva (Monk) Rosacker was born on February 11, 1949, in Emmetsburg, IA. His childhood years were spent on a small farm near Ayrshire where he attended elementary and high school. After high school John earned a degree in secondary education from Mankato State University. His first job after college brought him back to Iowa where he taught Industrial Technology at West Bend and Ayrshire High School.
After teaching for a few years, John moved to Spencer, IA, and joined the Spencer Police Department. He spent time serving with the SPD between 1974 and 1982. During this time John married Janet (Stokes) Rosacker in 1976 in Mallard, IA. The couple had two children, Joel and Jeana. John eventually got a job working for the Clay County Roads Department where he worked until his retirement in 2011. During his years living in Spencer, John was active with the Clay County Fair. He worked as an electrician for the fair and with the Clay County Speedway races.
Besides the fair, John enjoyed ice fishing, playing golf with friends, and taking road trips on his motorcycle. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. John was known for his great sense of humor and big heart. He was always willing to help out a friend. He cherished the time he was able to spend with this kids and grandkids.
John passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, in St. Louis, MO after a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Eugene Rosacker, Donald Rosacker, and James Rosacker. Left to cherish his memory is one sister, Leila Eagan; two children, Joel (Donna) Rosacker of St. Louis, MO, and Jeana Rosacker of Omaha, NE; along with two grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
