Jonathan Michael Lenz

Jonathan Michael Lenz, the son of Peter “John” Lenz and Valerie Sohl-Lenz, was born January 20, 1989 in Beatrice, NE.  His childhood years were spent in Nebraska and Kansas where he received his education.  He later received his education in Technical Schools and job training for 2 years at Job Corps in Ottumwa, IA.

     Jon married Andrea Preston on June 8, 2018 in Spencer, Iowa.  After their marriage, they lived in Spencer, IA with their three children Avery, Emery and Verose. Additionally, their family included his other two children, Brayden and Landen. He worked for General Machine Works as a CNC Machinist in Spencer, IA for six years until the time of his death.

      He loved fishing and received several Master Angler awards from the DNR.  Jon also was a member of Hope Reformed Church in Spencer, which he loved attending. Jon’s favorite pass-times were spending time with his children, fishing and volunteering at Hope Reformed Church as a greeter with their son Avery.

     He passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the age of 32.  He was an organ donor following his death and will be helping over 100 people with his gift as he always loved doing during his life.

      Left to cherish his memory are his parents Valerie Sohl-Lenz (Merwin) and Peter “John” Lenz (Rebecca “Becky”); his siblings Jennifer, Josh, Jessica, Joseph,  Justin, and Cristopher; his wife, Andrea; and his five children: Brayden, Avery, Landen, Emery and Verose.             

As well as other relatives and many, many friends.
