Joseph Arthur Johnson

Joseph Arthur Johnson, the son of Alvin and Ruth (Schany) Johnson was born June 8, 1955, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Dickens area where he attended school, graduating from South Clay in 1974. Joseph worked for the family company, Johnson Supply, until he started working on his own as a plumber. He married Shannon O'Brien in June of 1982 in Spencer. Joseph was a sentimental, gentle soul, who loved playing music, especially bass in his bands, and giving music lessons. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, watching movies and working on his 63' Chevy. He also enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. Joseph passed away at his home on Friday, November 28, 2014, at the age of 59. He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Robert. Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Megan O'Brien of Iowa City, IA, and T.J. Johnson of Omaha, NE; his mother, Ruth Johnson of Spencer, IA; one brother, Bradford (Sarah) Johnson of Spencer, IA; two sisters: Rochelle (Bob) O'Hara of Spencer, IA, and Julie Kloewer of Spencer, IA; six nephews; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

Visitation will begin 4:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, with family present 4 - 7:00 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, Iowa.
