Joseph K. Espey

December 19, 1951 — July 13, 2015

Joseph K. Espey, the son of Elmer and Edna (Junger) Espey was born on December 19, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa. His early childhood years were in Milford, Iowa later moving to Spencer where he graduated High School. On July 30, 1993, Joe married Joleen Klaassen in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Spencer, where he worked various jobs but mostly drove truck. He loved to ride his Harley and spend time with his family. Joe passed away on July 13, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 63 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joleen and a brother, Mark. Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters Helen Walker of Spencer and Shirley Gillmore and her husband, Eldon of Martelle, IA; a brother Elmer (Butch) Espey and his wife, Peggy of Byron, MN; his mother-in-law, Bertha Kleinhesselink of Orange City, IA; 4 step-sons: Kevin, Kirk, Korey and Keith Klaassen; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.

SERVICES

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
