Josephine Cecilia Iverson

November 20, 1915 — May 21, 2006

Josephine Cecilia Iverson, the daughter of Samuel and Katherine (Coffey) Nelson, was born on November 20, 1915 in Roland, IA. Her childhood years were spent on a farm near Roland. Josephine attended school and graduated in McCallsburg, IA. Following graduation, she attended Park College for four years, in Parkville, MO. On August 13, 1939, Josephine was united in marriage to Lowell Iverson at the Bergen Lutheran Church, in Roland. Following their marriage they lived in the towns of Cooper, Dow City, Panora, and Rockwell City, IA, before moving to Royal, IA, in 1963. Josephine was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Royal. She was also involved in the Women of The E.L.C.A. Church Circle and a Federated Women's Club member for 50 years. Josephine passed away at the Heart Specialty Clinic in Sioux Falls, SD, on May 21, 2006 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell; and one brother, Daniel Nelson. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Kathleen Awtry and her husband, David of Dakota Dunes, SD and Mary Venema and her husband, Christopher of Bickleton, WA; three sons: Dr. Richard Iverson, of Tallahassee, FL, Stuart Iverson and his wife, Cheryl of Albuquerque, NM; and Douglas Iverson, of Royal, IA; seven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; three brothers: Samuel Nelson, David Nelson, and William Nelson; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2006, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa.

Pastor Deb Mechler will officiate.
