Edith Joyce Clarene Davidson, the daughter of Grant and Etta Searcy Pelley, was born March 13, 1917, in Clay County, Iowa. She received her education at Spencer High School where she graduated.
Joyce married Earl Davidson on May 1, 1935, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Spencer area for several years. In 1946, they moved to Ruthven where they made their home and her husband owned a carpentry business for many years. Throughout her life, Joyce worked at several businesses in Spencer. Most recently, she was a director of volunteers at RSVP for 19 years, until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven. She moved to Spencer, Iowa, in 1999.
Mrs. Davidson passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa, on Friday, November 9, 2007, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl on July 25, 1982; daughter, Twyla Carlini in 2006; son-in-law, Richard Hott; two grandchildren; and four sisters: Vernetta, Rosetta, Vera and Elnora.
She is survived by two daughters: Anita Hott of Spencer, IA; Janet and her husband, Richard Westergard of Graettinger, IA; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
