Joyce Irene Ewoldt

Joyce Ewoldt daughter of Bert George Speed and Ethel Mae Parsons Speed was born October 20, 1942 in Clay County, Iowa. Her childhood was spent on the Speed family farm near Webb. She attended and graduated from Webb High School in 1960. Joyce married Dennis Lee Ewoldt on December 8, 1962. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer. Her dream of living in the country was fulfilled when they bought an acreage North of Spencer. Dennis and Joyce raised Suffolk Sheep for many years and started the county trophy for 4H sheep in Clay County. Joyce worked at Shopko, Wal-Mart and Crossroads Gas Station. She enjoyed sewing, antiquing, cooking, gardening, shopping, and spending time with her children. Joyce passed away at the Spencer Hospital on September 14, 2012 at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis, her parents and her brother James Eugene Speed. Joyce is survived by her brother, Robert George (Bob) Speed; her daughter Lisa and her husband Bill Elliott, daughter Lynnette and her husband William Jones, son Daniel Ewoldt and his wife Lisa Wilcox Ewoldt, daughter Crystal and her husband Randy Bechler; 4 grandchidren: Lindsey, Emily, Homiya and Thamarai; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
