Joyce Wampler passed away on Thursday Aug 11th in Bellevue, Washington.
Joyce was born November 7th, 1930 to Hap and Fran Ketelsen in the small farming town of Everly, Iowa. Raised on the family farm and cattle ranches in Wyoming, Joyce attended a one room school as a child, played basketball in high school and attended Stephens College in a theater degree program.
After college Joyce applied to Continental Airlines as a stewardess back in the old DC-3 days. It was during this time that Joyce met and married Bob Wampler; a pilot with Continental who passed away August 30, 2008.
Joyce and Bob had four children; John (b. 1956) Susie (b. 1958) Nancy (b. 1962) Tom (b. 1967).
She was a good and faithful servant at Unity of Bellevue and shared a keen interest of the visual arts with the congregation.
Joyce was an active member of ACT community theater and a docent at the Bellevue Art Museum. Joyce was a gifted artist, a sweet soul and a loving mother. To celebrate Joyce's life would require chapters, not paragraphs. She will be missed by many.
