Judy Hansen was born on August 3, 1964 in Dubuque, Iowa. She graduated high school from Sanborn, Iowa. She then attended the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse, graduating with a degree in Social Work. She also became a certified travel counselor. She worked as a travel agent for several years and also as an office manager for mental health clinics.
Judy married Dan Swiden on October 2, 1993 in Hawarden, Iowa. They lived in Sioux Falls until last March when they moved to LeMars, Iowa. Judy had a lifelong passion for animals and loved her dogs and cats.
Judy passed away on February 20, 2013, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls after an 18-year battle with cancer.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dan of LeMars, IA; her parents, Rev. Paul and Lucille Hansen of Spencer, IA; her sister, Carol Hansen of Spencer, IA; her brother, Jim Hansen of Milwaukee, WI and several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The time has come for
me to leave this life.
I have fought the good fight.
I have finished the race.
I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me
the crown of righteousness
which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me
on that day.

SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
There will be a time of fellowship with the family following the service, at the Grace United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
