Judy Kay Hanna

Judy Kay Hanna, the daughter of Vernie and Helma (Schager) Hofsommer, was born July 26, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa. Her early childhood years were spent in Spencer, IA, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School. Judy married Harlan Hanna on October 28, 1967 and to this union, two children were born: Brian and Christina. They later divorced and Judy worked at the meat packing plant in Hartley, IA and lived in Spencer, Iowa for many years, until her retirement. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and she enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her family and friends. She passed away at the Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the age of 69. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Vernie Hofsommer; a foster brother, Tim Lavine and 2 grandsons: Keith and Paul. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Helma Hofsommer of Spencer; one son, Brian Hanna of Iowa; one daughter, Christina and her husband, Jeff Blake of Cedar Falls, IA; six grandchildren; one brother, Don Hofsommer and his wife, Sandy Hofsommer of St. Cloud, MN; one foster brother, Jim Lavine of Panama; best friend, Sue Alanis other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
A Celebration Of Life will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 15, 2013 at Warner Chapel in Spencer, Iowa.

INTERMENT
Riverside Cemetery Spencer, Iowa Privately Prior to the Celebration of Life. A memorial fund has been established by the family. A lunch and time of fellowship will be held following the memorial service at the Moose Lodge in Spencer.
