June Charlotte Gleason Berg, the daughter of J.E. and Mable Leora Hulser Gleason, was born June 28, 1914 in Crockets Bluff, Arkansas. Her childhood years were spent in Arkansas and South Dakota before her family moved to Peterson, Iowa, in 1929.
June married Arthur Berg on October 2, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. Following their marriage, they lived in Peterson, Iowa. She worked at a grocery store in Peterson for 32 years and did housework for several years, until her retirement. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Peterson. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidering and putting together picture puzzles.
June passed away at her home in Peterson on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur on October 4, 1987; one sister, Barbara Hill; and three brother-in-laws, Harry Tuck, John Lewis, and Harold Hill.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bruce Berg and his wife, Donna of Peterson, IA; two sisters: Charlene Tuck of San Diego, CA, Helen Lewis of Woodstock, Georgia; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 5, 2008, at First Congregational Church in Peterson.
