June Cleon Johann, the daughter of A.W. and Mae Belle Kellum Stahly, was born June 6, 1917 in Hartley, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Hartley, where she received her education, graduating from Hartley High School in 1934. Following her schooling, she worked in Hartley.
June married Clayton K. Johann on September 15, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska. After their marriage, they lived in Sutherland, Iowa, where she owned and operated Johann's Grocery Store from 1941, until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. June was also active in the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary in Sutherland.
Mrs. Johann passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; two sons: Rodney and James; and two sisters: Vera Glee Milner and Viva Rhea Miller
She is survived by three grandchildren: Julie (David) Schmitz, of Alta, IA, Heather (Danny) Constant, of Dahlonega, GA, Cody (James) Dykers, of Lakeland, FL; one daughter in law, Janet (Bob) Pekelder, of Sheldon, IA; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 15, 2007, at United Methodist Church, in Sutherland, Iowa
